ReplyDeleteYup me too! Owned since I was 13 years old.. saved my money to buy one knitting sweaters for people. Owned off and on until about 12 years ago.... I still miss them, but they ARE alot of work!
DeleteThe smile on your face says it all, Marilyn! Horses are wonderful creatures. Although I've never owned one, I do enjoy watching them. My favorite memory of horses is when I lived in Estes Park, Colorado in our little cabin and right next door was a corral with two horses. I could watch them from my kitchen window and never got tired of observing their antics. So fun! Thanks for posting these delightful photos. Hugs
ReplyDeleteNancy.. horses were my first love, starting when I was probably around 10 years old! Like most little girls, I dreamed of owning one.. and did buy my first at age 13. They are so fun to just watch grazing in the pasture.. and they are very loving and loyal creatures.. and can be such a friend to us too. I was never more happy than when I could be riding my own steed... on a beautiful day up in the mountains. Although.. I did also ride in the rain and snow! Also made a few overnight camping trips in various mountains where I lived.. and those were priceless! I sure miss owning them and enjoying their love back to me. xoxo Marilyn
DeleteI can see the pure joy on your face Marilyn! You were loving every minute of your time riding for sure! I can concur that horses are a LOT of work, and cost a LOT of money too, they are not a cheap animal to own. I have never owned a horse, but I get to enjoy my neighbor's horses, and feed them for her when she is away. They are such special animals. I loved your post today! I hope you had fun with the 10 pictures, 10 words challenge, I really enjoyed walking back down memory lane with you :)
ReplyDeleteMarilyn... I DID very much enjoy the 10 day challenge, though kept me on my toes! Yup.. horses are wondrous creatures and so full of love and loyalty for their friends. I've owned many.. yes they are spendy and much work, but was worth every penny and time spent! Sometimes I wish I could have horses again, but then remember why I gave up my last one, as it was physically demanding work and especially if they got hurt, and had to be tended, my back just wasn't always up to the task. I'm glad you have neighbor horses to love on, feed and be around. There is nothing like it! hugs to you.. Marilyn
DeleteI have enjoyed your 10 days of joyful pictures! What loving memories you must have of your horses! 💖
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed it too Susan. It was fun to go down memory lane (and some current things too!). Marilyn
DeleteMarilyn, I love seeing you riding. A friend of mine had horses and we would ride quite often. I loved it but it has been a long time ago. Not much better than that.xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteYes Judy... those were the "good ole days"!! These pix were about 23 years ago! I can't believe that much time has gone by! Horses were my first love and I had many through the years, from age 13 and onward. The one I'm riding in these pictures I owned (or he owned me) until about 15 years ago. Still miss riding! Glad I got to once last summer. xoxo Marilyn
