FEBRUARY 2014 "EMBOSS" SPECIAL!

Be the "boss" in February of 2014!

New to CTMH for the Spring/Summer 2014 Idea Book are FIVE embossing folders to use in your Cuttlebug, Sizzix or other embossing machine. The folders are a touch OVER 5x7 so may not fit into the older emboss machines.  

Here are a couple of cards samples using the emboss folders.  I unfortunately don't have a Cuttlebug or embossing machine (yet!) but that's next on my wish list.

Sweet sweet Easter card by Susan Edwards at Busy with the Cricky. (Her blog is darling!) She used the Stripe emboss folder and the Damask emboss folder.  When embossing the stripes, you need to make sure that the paper is on the straight of grain. I will post a video on this in the next day or two.

Pretty thank you card by Lisa Stenz at Lisa's Creative Corner. This is using the Dot emboss folder. I love the effects that embossing gives.  Lisa has wonderful ideas for her cards!

My oh My! Love this and love the wood grain paper and the deep blues and greens. So much potential for summer layouts and cards.

I'M ON CLOUD NINE! and some Sneak Peeks.

Did you know that January is National Papercrafting Month! It's another good reason for Close to My Heart to present another awesome special for you!

Here's a darling card made by Sheila Bennett at Sheila's Stamping Stuff.  This gives you an idea of how you can change it up, and use different papers with some of the kit stamps  and assessories.

Using the mustache stamp from the Cloud Nine set (and probably white pigment ink), Sheila's card has the appearance of a bow on top of a gift box. Isn't that smart? 

To create the polka-dot box, she adhered some strips of the new gold Washi Tape to a square of black cardstock.  After adding some of the (new) Triangle Studs, a strip of the Washi Tape on the front of the envelope and on the inside of the card, the gift box look is completed. 

Both the Washi Tape and Triangle Studs (along with the teal shimmer trim shown in the above cards) are included in the Cloud Nine cardmaking kit, and are NEW items in the upcoming Spring/Summer 2014 Idea Book (going live, on-line on February 1st)! Love these!

Illuminate in November! Stamp of the Month.

Hi all, a quick post today to show you the NOVEMBER ILLUMINATE Stamp of the Month set from Close to My Heart. It is darling and great for Christmas and other occasions.

Such a pretty card created by Alyson Mayo. She used the Laughing Lola papers. Look at the tiny candles she made using white cardstock and (I think) gold glitter gel. What a great idea!

Oh, one more thing I wanted to show you. This is "just for fun".  My friend and fellow consultant, Michelle Johns at My Flights of Fancy made the cutest Advent Wall Calendar using the Magical Days stamp set in the Holidays from the Heart catalog. The papers she used are the Sparkle & Shine papers. I just had to show you!

How cute is this? Each white cardstock "strip" holds 4 pockets. Each pocket holds a little tag with a cute saying on it for that day.  Darling idea. The Magical Days stamp set is a cute "box" shaped fancy number, for the 25 days of the month. Many of the numbers could be used for other occasions. Thank you Michelle!

REMINDER - FREE STUFF.

I went to the store yesterday to try to find some Christmas papers so I could begin making a Christmas gift project I have in mind.

I know it's early yet, and it's only Fall.............

But low and behold......... I could not find ANYTHING! I know it's early for Christmas stuff, but it did make me realize how lucky we are to have companies such as Close to My Heart, where we can buy, year-round, our themed papers for the various holidays.

Here are two cards I made using these sweet little paper strips.  The first card (for Christmas) uses the tiny strips that I printed out on a 4x6 piece of photo paper, and then I cut each one out.

I used the small strips around the middle circle tag. The two side strips are the larger ones. Add some glitter snowflakes and an edge of glitter around the middle circle tag, and you're done!

For the second card (also for Christmas), I printed larger strips on photo paper, as I like the shine of photo paper. I cut them out and mounted two behind a sentiment tag.

Add some sparkle ribbon at the top and bottom, and some glitter glue around the edges of the strips.  I stamped the background before I mounted anything, using one of our retired CTMH Christmas stamps using gold pigment ink. EASY AND QUICK!

And don't forget, there is also a fabric, Sparkle & Shine Textiles that matches and coordinates with the Sparkle & Shine papers.

HOLIDAYS FROM THE HEART ONLINE NOW!

Today is the day! The Close to My Heart Holiday Gift catalog is now viewable HERE on my website.  I hope you will go take a look. There is a beautiful Sparkle and Shine paper pack and some other really pretty Christmas things.

The Close to My Heart gals are at it again, already making cards and projects for Christmas and there is a blog hop going on right now (see link at the end of this blog post).

If you want to use the traditional red and green colors, here is a darling card from Tresa Black at Fabulously Artsy. She used the Pear cardstock and did some stamping on it using a background stamp called Geometric Backgrounds.

The Santa is from the Santa Claus stamp set in the Holidays from the Heart catalog which she colored with watercolor pencils. I love the traditional look of the red and green.

If you like to color (like I do!), can you imagine what you can do with this stamp? As you can see, there is a red border around this stamp, which means that the CTMH Artiste Cricut cartridge makes a perfect cut on your Cricut machine for this doily stamp!
