Fun with Valentines

My sister came for a weekend visit a couple of weeks ago (end of January) and we decided to spend some time paper crafting together. It was so much fun! We rarely seem to find the time to get together, and this one-on-one time was very precious.

I had seen a youtube video by Septeria 18, for a little flipbook/card that I suggested we make, as it looked like fun and would be cute to mail out. So out came the papers, glue, scissors, trimmers, tags, stickers, glitter hearts and bows and boxes of tea, and we were off and running!

Paper crafting sure makes a mess...........

We spent all day at it (with a little snacking in between of course)...... and my sister made two darling flipbooks for her friend, and one for her son and his wife.  I manged to get about 10 cut out and ready to glue, as I was making some for the little shop here in town (Hummingbird Junction) where I sell some of my creations.

I spent more too much time gathering up and making little bits of ephermera to put on/in the flipbooks! There's cutting out, punching out, finding the right glitter paper and gathering up other bits and pieces to use. So I was the gatherer and puncher and "finder" of things to use!

Since we used vellum in the middle of the book, and I only had a little bit that was printed with some gold on it, I made an "overlay" of hearts to print on my plain vellum. It really turned out pretty!

I hope to have more of these types of "overlays" in my Etsy shop soon. I'm just trying to decide whether to use my existing shop (MyPinkPaperCottage) for all of my (new) digitals that I am making, or open a new shop. Decisions.... decisions.  I'm not good at decisions.

We were so engrossed in the projects, that I didn't take time to photograph what my sister made. Her little booklets were so cute. Here are a few I actually finished....

Inside on the left is a little pocket holding a small "photo book"......in the middle is the vellum page with a tag on top for a place to write..........

There's a pocket in the back to hold a teabag.........
a

I've actually only finished 5......... and have about 6 more to finish. Each booklet has a matching envelope.

This one had an "oops"........... when I pulled it out of the envelope to take a picture, it wrinkled the little label on front, so had to totally redo it. Usually anything can be fixed!

Most of the papers I used were/are digital papers I bought from Etsy or from a site called Snapclick Supply, which I love. They have many name brand papers that are digital downloads.

I also made a few little treat boxes, also from prints I bought from Etsy, or that were free from various blog sites.

I love the little "retro" treat boxes!

And of course, I just HAD to make some tea packet favors. I bought this digital printable (below) from Vectoria Designs on Etsy. You just print them and cut them out. They have amazing printables!

I had the little paperclip pom poms on hand, that I had bought from the Dollar Tree and had NO IDEA what I was going to use them for! You just never know when the little things you buy (on a whim) will come in handy.

As I write this, it's Feb. 12th and I didn't finish any more of the little flipbook/cards... well I did finish one and mailed it to one of my sisters. The rest have been put away until next year.

I also made one more really gorgeous envelope card that flips open. I love it! I saw the video on the  Smile by Holly channel on Feb. 8, 2022. She makes some really darling (and fairly easy) projects.

This sweet (and very substantial) "card" uses just two envelopes. I used 5x7's.

You flip it open and there is a large pocket on the bottom where I tucked a little booklet with tea bags inside. The top pocket held a little cash, just for fun.

I made a few other very simple cards and got those sent off.

Oh... and I DID make about 14 Hershey bar pockets which are really popular in the little shop here in town. Here are a few. I just had so much fun with the pretty papers!

I love the vintage look of this one!

I used quite a "mish mash" (as my mom used to say) of papers.. scraps, some leftovers from past years, and some digital papers I either bought or had on hand as freebies.

Which one do you like the best?

We've had gorgeous weather here.. in the 60's and one day it was 72. On that day, I almost went on a picnic to the lake which is about 9 miles away, but decided not to. I thought maybe on Sunday I would go, if it's still as nice.

God Bless everyone... and have a nice VALENTINE'S DAY!

Doggies and cherubs.....

I'm doing a quick post today (me? quick???? ha ha).... just to show you some sweet pretties I made recently for Valentine's Day. I know... I'm late as  usual... they are sets of doggie or cherub cards.. now in my Etsy shop, My Pink Paper Cottage, here.

The dog themed card fronts are from fabric that I scanned into the computer and then printed on white cardstock.

Darling doggies.....

Each set of cards has coordinating envelopes, made by me.. tied with a pretty ribbon.

I Woof You............. (there are 4 of these in one set, each a little different).

Cut-outs mounted on woodgrain paper.... so sweet! I fussy cut each dog out and lined with black pen so they would pop on the card.

Pink woodgrain! Don't you just love it????  Every card has some silver glitter here and there.

I love the floppy ears with red hearts.

Who doesn't like chocolate candy? They are full of silver glitter, but you can't see it in the photos.

Here's the glitter.

Pretty pink and white foil cherubs...........
My sets of cards are 4 cards with pretty coordinating Valentine's Day themed envelopes. I've tied up the cards and envelopes with a pretty satin ribbon.

And if you need a last minute card, here's an Instant Download I have in my Etsy shop of some Subway art for Valentine's Day. I like to print these out on glossy paper or photo paper, and pop them on top of a pre-made card... and voila! it's done. It's pretty enough not to need any embellishments.. maybe just a few gems and a little red bow.

OK... that's my quick post for today!

It's 71 degrees here today in central Oregon. Unheard of just about for this time of year. This is a normally COLD climate during the winter, with temps in the teens and single digits... so this is quite a surprise for us... and I (almost) have Spring fever!

How is your weather?

More eye candy......

I've had more fun this week making what I call "mini" albums.. but they are really more like little journal/tag albums or instagram photo albums. Although I don't "do" instagram, these little albums are perfect for small photos or instagram photos, which I understand are about 2x2 inches.

I seem to always gravitate towards making "small" things, such as little mini albums, little tiny boxes, tiny accordian albums, etc. I mean, a tiny one is just as much work as a large one! But I love the small things and miniatures. These following two albums are "one sheet 12x12 pocket albums".  There are many You Tube videos out there on making little booklets or albums from one 12x12 inch sheet of paper. This is one of my all-time favorites!

I was making these just for the fun of it. The two pocket minis I started over two years ago! I had the basic little album made, but needed (and wanted) to decorate them with some of my pretty vintage papers.... and then they turned out so cute, I decided to put them in my Etsy shop. The links to each one are at the end of this post.

More pictures of my "Sweet" pocket mini, full of at least 20 little tags and tiny photo mats: (these little pocket albums measure 3" x 4-1/2" tall and have 8 pocket pages.

There are two "secret" pockets at the top of two of the pages, that hold pretty vintage tags.

One of my pink crocheted hearts and a vintage pink button.

This next pocket mini, "Live Life in Full Bloom", turned out adorable, using some of my older hoarded scrapbook papers. I love how it turned out (same size..... 3" x 4-1/2" tall).  It also has many tags, I think about 26 or so and some little photo mats, with the two "secret" pockets at the top of two pages:

There are 5 quote tags. I found the quotes here and there online and printed them out and then cut the tags out with my Sizzix die cutting machine. Love that machine!

Of course I had to add some touches of lace!

I made the "Cherish" tag several  years ago, by using a rubber stamp and stamping it on a brown paper sack (after crinkling it up).. and then I scanned it into my computer to make paper I could print out, and then cut tags from it.

Some of the tags have a Parisian flare, with the birds, and Bonjour and Post Card. These were cut from some free digital paper from "Free Pretty Things for  You". She has wonderful and awesome free digitals!

The peach colored tags I dry embossed first with little bird cages, and then cut the tags out.
My "big" album (all of 4-1/2" by 6").... comes with it's own little box wrapped with red tulle! I call this one my "Kiss Kiss" album. ........ this is a more traditional album with room for quite a few 4x6 photos. I LOVE the touches of gold here and there in it:

I made this to be more of a "photo album" with many empty pages ready for 4x6 photos and 5 photo mats tucked into side and top pockets. There are also ALOT of tags... I can't remember how many, I think around 30! The description of this album in my Etsy shop will describe the album more and how many tags it has. I didn't make all of these tags... I used some for a collection from Becky Higgins Project Life Lucky Charm collection.

This is a "photo mat" tag that pulls out from the criss cross pocket page in the middle of the album. Love it! Love the gold.... and see the pink horse with "wild thing I think I love you" on it?

The larger photo mats.. I think there are 5 in all.

For fun, I made two little vellum envelopes to hold a secret tag to write on, inside.

Tickets and tags!

This is fairly thick, and held together by an attached ribbon that ties into a pretty bow.
So... there's the three little albums I made so far. I'd like to finish two more that I started. One is black....hum.m.m. wonder what I can do with that one? Maybe shabby grunge?

In case anyone is interested in tutorials for this 4x6 album, the main base album was on Bexswanson's channel right here.  The center page, with the neat criss cross pocket (which page is made with one 12x12" piece of paper) can be found on RoxyFur's channel here on You Tube

FYI.... I made this sweet little square mini album awhile back, which is also in my Etsy shop.  It's my "Love Notes" album. Very sweet. I think it's about 4" x 4" but not positive. My Etsy description will show the exact size.  On this one I did use a black base and I really like  how it turned out.

Well ladies.. that's what I've been up to this last week, besides scanning fabric and making cards! I'm on such a roll now.. I don't want to leave my craft room.

Here's the link to my Etsy store (MyPinkPaperCottage).  Click on the "Paper Mini albums" to the left at the top to find all of my albums.

I'm sorry this was so long, but I just had to share!

Have a great weekend!
