A Day to Celebrate.....

Happy Independence Day she said...... it's a very special day to celebrate.....it's our freedom that we must cherish.... our freedom to choose, speak freely, and own a piece of land if we so desire, work where we choose, go to school, follow our dreams........ don't take it for granted she said...... many brave and honorable boys and girls, men and women have lost their lives so that our country remains free.

Our country MUST remain united. Take today especially to say your prayers for our beloved country, that it remains united and free.

"God Bless the U.S.A."
(Written by Lee Greenwood / Universal Music Publishing Group)
If tomorrow all the things were gone
I'd worked for all my life
And I had to start again
With just my children and my wife
I'd thank my lucky stars
To be living here today
Cause the flag still stands for freedom
And they can't take that away
And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I gladly stand up
Next to you and defend her still today
Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God bless the USA
From the lakes of Minnesota
To the hills of Tennessee
Across the plains of Texas
From sea to shining sea
From Detroit down to Houston,
And New York to L.A
Well there's pride in every American heart
And its time we stand and say
That I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I gladly stand up
Next to you and defend her still today
Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God bless the USA
And I'm proud to be and American
Where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I gladly stand up
Next to you and defend her still today
Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God bless the USA
Have a wonderful "free" day!

  3. So true. I have lived and worked all over the world, and am so grateful that I was born here. I could never have had the career I've had anywhere else. I also appreciate owning my pink cottage, being self employed, and having so many choices. I sing patriotic songs in my kitchen every morning. It's important to remember.

    1. Thank you AwakendSoul for your visit! When hearing about your "pink cottage" I just HAD to go visit your blog! I became immersed in your story and your life, and your cottage, gardens, etc. I'm going to to back and read more! I was trying to catch of glimpse of your pink cottage but only found one photo of your front porch and could see the pink cottage in the background. Are there more photos on there somewhere? Would love to see them. I'm a sucker for anything pink, but especially pink cottages, flowers, decorations, fabric, papers, (and now soaps!). How wonderful for you to have begun your soap and knitting business! I have/had an Etsy shop called MyPinkPaperCottage. It's closed at the moment but I'll be reopening it soon. It's fun and I too enjoy taking the photos, uploading the pictures and writing the descriptions. I hope you get this.. I couldn't find an email to send this to you via email! Take care! Marilyn

  4. Hi Marilyn. I love that song. Sometimes it seems like things are trying to be changed and I don't like it one bit and I am almost to the point of letting it rip!! But, I will hold my tongue for now. The freedoms that we enjoy in our country are so precious and I hope that never changes..Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for your sweet visit. xxoJudy

  5. Hi Marilyn, Just wanted to let you know that I got your comment. Thank you for leaving it. I will add my email to your list. You certainly have a green thumb! I love anything to do with pink cottages, too. I don't have many photos of the front of my cottage, just the one that's the logo for my Etsy shop. I look forward to seeing your Etsy shop when you reopen. I'm glad you like the Victorian pink heart soap. I love that one...Keep up the great work over here!

  6. I agree with you Marilyn, how very very blessed beyond measure we are in this country! How thankful we should be for our freedoms, and not to take them for granted! I hope you had a blessed and wonderful 4th, we sure did :) It has been hot here, and we are trying to stay cool, going to the river to cool off. My garden is keeping me busy too. Hugs to you dear friend!

    1. Hugs back to you Marilyn! Very hot here too and staying cool inside.. except I love going out in the evenings just before dark.. it's so nice and cool and peaceful. You are lucky to have a river close by to cool off in! Yes.. this time of year gardens seem to be our top priority.. though I don't have many veggies this year, just lemon cukes and tomatoes. I have to grow everything in tubs.. our ground here is like cement! Take care friend... Marilyn
