I painted the board with my pink acrylic paint, then used Mod Podge to glue on the papers from Chantilly (the pink in the background and the little zip strip at the bottom) and For Always (the black flowered paper). Then I mod podged all over it again to seal everything.
The black and white rosette I made with the For Always paper, and the pink ones are with the Chantilly papers. I just love rosettes! See my rosette tutorial here.
Once everything was dry, I stamped using black Staz On ink, using the Tailor-Made stamp set which I absolutely love (retired stamp set but I could probably find one for you if you just HAD to have it!). Since I'm a sewer and quilter, I also added stitching lines using a black Sharpie pen. I can't seem to resist adding some sort of lines or stitching when I do these little canvas boards.
I made this for my sister's birthday, who is an avid quilter. Over 30 years ago, she and I were both sewing for a shop in the Old Town District of Portland, Oregon! She made leather coats and jackets, and I made mens' western shirts. Sewing, and then quilting, is in our blood!

I am a HUGE fan of Liquid Glass. Besides being an awesome super sticking adhesive for just about anything, it makes a neat shiny look to stamped images and embellishments, and you can make water droplets if you want a wet effect. |
