Saturday Serenity - February 20, 2016

I love water..... and I don't just mean water to drink.  I am so much more serene when I can be near the water, whether it be the ocean, a lake, a river, or a creek. I NEED to be by water. A numerologist once told me, after reading my numbers, that I don't just "like" water, or "like" being near the water, but that I NEED to be living by water. I need it for my soul.

I feel so much better today because I got to visit this wonderful creation of nature last week, Lake Billy Chinook, just west of Madras.

We never know the worth of water.....
Until the well is dry.

The Three Sisters mountains are way off in the distance to the south.

And Willow Creek, that flows gently into Lake Simtustus, which is north of Lake Billy Chinook, added very much to  my feelings of peace and serenity.  In this very arid climate, just the sound of it soothed me.

I am so very thankful for water! I hope your Saturday is a good one.

  1. Those are breathtaking photos! I think the older I get the more appreciation I have for nature and the peace it offers. We have a small river that runs behind our house and our youngest daughter loves to spend days riding down it in a tube during warm weather. It's no house on the lake but it will do!

    1. Thank you Jen. I know what you mean about appreciating nature much more as we get older. It is all so awe inspiring to me. You'll notice that ALOT of my photos here on my blog are of water! You are so lucky to have a little river by your house.... envy here! I used to live where there was a little creek I could see out my front window, and we made a waterfall from it behind the house. Boy did I love that spot. Times change though, which is sad sometimes.. but I still try to get my water fix as often as I can! Love your blog too (love anything "cottage") and am going to subscribe, as soon as I can get my old crotchety computer to cooperate. Marilyn

  2. Greetings from the Oregon Coast. I was "sentenced" to spend 50 years in Arizona and cannot get enough of water! I think the Oregon Coast is the most beautiful place on Earth and it feeds my soul.

  3. I know exactly what you mean! I feel that way about living in central Oregon which is DRY DRY DRY. I grew up going to the Oregon coast a lot as I grew up in Portland, Oregon,,, not too far from the coast and my parents took us there a lot. I'm visiting my sister right now at the coast which is feeding my soul as I type! Will have to post some pictures soon! Marilyn
