A Walk in the Woods

Well it's "only" been 2 months since I posted! Life is busy, which is a good thing! Keeps me on my toes.

Speaking of toes, I used them (and my feet!) to go for a walk in the woods by my house, a few weeks ago. Was a beautiful rare sunny day in February.

Im so lucky to have these forest woods just down the road from me. I had been wanting to explore these woods since I moved here! Only took me two years.

Lots of huge ferns.

Besides trying to get out and walk more, I've been paper crafting a lot. I've been on a real roll, and can't seem to stop! As my mom used to say, "get it while the getting's good". And I am.

Making photo books.

I love these 6x6 floppy photo books made from only 2 pieces of 12x12 scrapbook paper! I'm addicted to making them.
And of course, need to have pink and green!
Took some Christmas pictures with my sweet kitty, Maddie.

Found a bumble bee doing it's darndest to get the nector out of my Daphne flower!
Diving headfirst!!

I'm trying to shed some lbs I've gained this last year, so drinking a protein and greens drink almost every day to replace a meal. I add some of my own frozen blueberries and Maca powder for energy.
It helps to I drop a little weight (if I would stick to it)!!!

I've also been making refrigerator magnets to sell in the trading post in my nearby town.
The owner loves plants and has many for sale in her shop. I thought she'd appreciate these! I also made some with Sasquatch on them as her store tends to have alot of Sasquatch themed items. This IS Bigfoot country ya know!!

That's the news from here. I'm enjoying the cozy rainy days inside, and the occasional sun filled day. Summer will come all too soon!

  2. Your new paper crafts are wonderful. You're so talented dear friend.
I love the photos of your walk in the woods, what a beautiful place to walk and explore. It looks like a forest where you'd expect to see Robin Hood coming out from around a tree. I spied a heart where the light is coming through under that log across the two trees, in the second photo. 🥰☘️

    1. Dear Connie.... thank you for the comment! Yes those woods are very magical! I looked back and YES.. there IS a heart under that big log! How did I miss that? They are not huge woods and I actually got lost in there! Ha Ha...... somehow turned on a different road coming out, and ended up at a swampy pond! So turned around and found my way out. Thankfully, they are not huge like I said, but big enough for lots of good trails and walking. I yearned for wood when I lived in Madras, and now I have some right down the street from me. Of course they are not big dark deep woods, but good enough. Hugs to you! Marilyn

  3. I love your photos, especially the bee in the flower, which makes me think Spring. We made it through the winter with no snow...well almost...12 more days. I wish every winter would be so mild.

    1. Kris, yes, that bee was such a surprise to see! So funny how it was digging down to the very bottom of that flower and wouldn't move, even when I touched it! I'm amazed that Daphne bush is still blooming! The flowers are looking old now, but there are new ones getting read to pop out. I just need to get out there and prune it some. Winter is still full force here today! Rain/sleet/hail and only 39 degrees. I bet there is snow up on Wickiup Mountain! Take care... Marilyn

  4. What a delightful walk in the woods, just no place like being out in God's amazing world, and so thankful you are in such a beautiful place now where you can get out and enjoy it! Your books and creations are always so amazing, your attention to detail! I love your creativity, and you always inspire me with your work. I'm glad you are "in your groove" and having so much fun creating, and that you have a place to sell your work too, that is wonderful! Such a lovely sight to see the bees out already, it is still too cold here yet for them. Won't be long though! Many blessings to you!
