SATURDAY SERENITY AND HAPPY 4TH! 7-4-2015

It's a little hard to be serene today... with all of the 4th of July activities going on! But I'm trying..... I'm not one for crowds of people and lots of noise.... especially in this super HOT weather we are having here in central Oregon.

There's an old preserved ghost town in Fort Rock, Oregon, about 45 miles from where I live, and for some reason, going there and just listening to the past.... gives me a feeling of peace and serenity. What was it like to live back then?

Life has its rhythm and we have ours....
They're designed to coexist in harmony....
So that when we do what is ours to do....
And otherwise let life be....
We garner acceptance....
... and serenity.
~Victoria Moran~

I love this quote - I'm trying to live by it today... and let life have its own rhythm, even though it is rowdy and loud! I'll attempt to coexist with it. I'll sit and contemplate life as it was 150 years ago.....
..................and be thankful that the people of this great United States of America have had their freedom for over 200 years.

I'll celebrate in my own way......... and remain serene if I can.

  1. I look at old buildings sometimes as well and wonder about who lived there, what were their lives like, were they happy? It does bring about feelings of serenity for some reason. Hard to explain why, but it does.

    1. Yes I do the same thing - wonder who they were and what life was like back then. It almost seems mystical or magical to look at and be in the presence of old buildings and homesteads.... you can almost hear the laughter and chatter of the souls who once lived there (and I'm sure the times were really hard too).
