I finally bought me a new (I call it mimi) weed eater!
The one I had in Madras was old, hardly worked, and electric and I had to drag a cord around. And...it was heavy. I said goodbye to it when I moved here.
My son has been taking care (mostly) of the tall grass and weeds here since I moved 2 years ago (has it really been over 2 years since I moved here?) But this summer he had an injury and just hasn't been able to do it. I've been pulling weeds by hand.
That grass was growing all along the fence. I pulled it by hand. Phew. I borrowed the neighbor's weed eater once but it was way too heavy for me!
My new weed whacker weighs only 4 lbs. and I love it! Has a small battery, with one extra, and seems powerful enough to eat the tall grass and weeds and the smaller blackberries creeping through my fence. No more sore arms and no more cord dragging! It's my new best friend!
Here's my work from yesterday.
The grass here was 2 feet tall.....and all along the fence.. I still have more to do but this was a good start.
Now I can see my beautiful flowers!
Here's a photo of the brand of weed eater I bought in Amazon, in case you are interested in something lightweight.
Hugs....Marilyn
I'm very happy to meet your new best friend, LOL.. I also have a very light weed eater and I love it. These new battery tools are amazing. They are perfect for women because they're so easy to operate. This is going to save your back little sister:)
ReplyDeleteHappy gardening! Oh, your flowers are so pretty, you certainly have a green thumb🌱🌼🌱🌻🌱🌷🌱
Glad your new bestie is working well for you. Your flowers are looking beautiful. Happy Friday and Happy Weekend. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. I have an old weedeater that needs a cord and weighs about 1000 pounds-I might have exaggerated that poundage a bit. Everything is looking really good, Marilyn. Hugs- Diana
ReplyDeleteI love that you've found a good weedeater for you, Marilyn! Because husband and son have invested in Milwaukee tools, we have a battery-operated Milwaukee weedeater, and I love it. I was never able to handle the crankshaft ones, and this one has been such a lifesaver, because like you - I am in a constant battle with weeds in my garden! They just never quit! Today, after I weedeated, i went and "vinegared" the pathways and edges to hopefully keep the weeds down for the rest of the summer. It definitely makes keeping weeds at bay a lot easier when you can weed-whack yourself! Blessings to you dear friend!
